I exchange all the electrics for steamers before setting sail. The higher observability is more than offset by the speed and range of the steamer IMO, as others have mentioned.

Destroyers almost always spot steamers. If you want to take out smaller warships, electric is th eonly way to go, and homers are even better!

i use only electrics... against all targets

and i hit a lot just got to calculate your shots precisely

rear shots against silly DDs are fun too

I used electric torps for the first time on my last patrol. It was against warships and worked well. However, I realized that I needed to lead shoot them a bit against the fast movers.

Great thing was that even when I missed they didn't notice, allowing me to fire a second for a kill.

Also never forget to press Q to open tubes before firing. If you dont, theres a lag as your tube opens and the solution in the torpedo gets old - causing your fish to miss.
