Important!TAW runs fine under Windows XP, but when you install it, be sure to select the MUSIC to OFF during the initial setup screens. Otherwise TAW will likely crash or not start at all.
Instructions to get TAW to run 1600 x 1200 in Glide (by Rubini)A) Make the download and the installation of Zeckensack's Glide wrapper ->
http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/ B) After the installation of the Glide wrapper open the "configurator" and configure like this:
Leave everything in "default", then only modify three things:1. in "resolution limit" (lower left): 1600x1200 (don't cross the maximum that your monitor gets)
2. in "profile settings" (to the right), "resolution", change to "try hi res."
3. in "profile settings" (to the right), "thread policy", change for "Use render thread".
Click "Apply" and "Ok", close the configurator.
C) Run TAW with the glide patch in 800X600, the wrapper DOUBLES the resolution (1600 x 1200) automatically!
The size of the fonts and proportionalities are also maintained and no white lines! I noticed a light fall of the fps in cockpit views. See the readme of the wrapper and learn more some details; configure your card to enable AA/AF and others.
Update: TAW have two possible resolutions: 640X400 and 800X600. My ATI don't work in 1280X800 (2X 640X400, then I have only one option: 800X600 & 1600X1200.
Alternate GLIDE (DgVoodoo) possibility that allows for differing resolutions and perhaps increased performance (frame rates):Check this thread ->
