Could anywon please help me as im stuck and annoyed.

I bought a new pc the other day and now with xp running having real difficulties getting rb running.

First i tried my superpatchedf rd2 but thiws hung after the meu screen, maybe my use of the the control panel 2.1 for fcj did this? After that i tried the un[atched version of rb3d.

This i have in the budgetline only from soldout, having reaqding the posts tht i can find i see that iff you copy al the files to another cd manually then it should work, this has not been the case for me.

Any suggestions, please help

after looking more i have found some information about making an iso copy and then running this from your hdd. Dont understanfd the steps though, can anyone help ta

First we'll work on some terminology - You mean you have the RBII Valueline CD?
Or you got it from SOLDOUT SOFTWARE?
Did it install, load and run OK as a STOCK install?
If you went ahead and loaded patches from your old machine there may be conflicts in the various SETTINGS with a new,different Graphics card, etc.
The main one being screen resolution (you're not using a new machine with an old monitor are you? An old monitor may not support the resolution that a new machine is capable of).
The only issue with XP is the lack of sound when using a USB joystick,so XP's not causing the DTD.
You'll probably want to be using more than one install of RB - maybe one for totally STOCK, one for FCJ, one for HASP, one for WFP, one for MMP......etc. So check out the Multiple install guide linked in my sig and refresh up on the newbie pages too since they've been improved.
You can check out numerous sites for info specific to RB and XP, the Hell's Angela site has a good source. The 'Wings of Valor.net' site has lots of good info.

It did not run and install at all, the error was in retieving files from the data file, notmally the winter.vol file, though not sure of this every time.

The intall that i got working was a RB2 upgrade to rb3d, this worked fine until launching the 3d environment in the game.

Also as a additon i recieve an error about not being able to access certain files with the control panal 2.1. Though i have been able to find some of the attributes by vimming through the files i wonder why this is? Any help.
