I've some difficulty in shooting down the circling a/c in this tutorial mission. Any tips on how I could be a more effective AA gunner?

Make sure you lead your targets. Don't put the crosshairs directly on them put them in front of them slightly.

Practice on the slower Swordfish and lead your target.
The 20mm ammo comes in 20rd clips so wait till they are close in (coming towards you) before letting rip.
Also, select targets through the Binos and let your AI gunners do their job, which they're good at, well as least better than I am at the moment. \:D
