Paint your own DR I red,or you can assign MvR's plane parts to your DR I.
From the MAIN MENU select CAMPAIGN(the one in which you are flying the DR I),then select SQUADRON OPS,then select PAINT SHOP then select PAINT PLANE.
The DR I will be shown in the colors flown by your squadron. On the left side of the screen you can cycle through all the squadron and ace schemes for each plane part and select it to be on your personal plane. You would cycle through the list to Manfred Von Ricthofen's for each plane part, and select it. You will see the new part(s) on the picture on the right of the screen.
When you're done selecting parts, SAVE the scheme.
Go back to PAINT SHOP and ASSIGN the scheme under SELF ASSIGNMENTS and you have MvR's plane to fly in CAMPAIGNS.
You can also EXPORT each plane part which will be saved in the PAINT Folder and paint them yourself. Windows Paint program will do,or any program that will paint in .bmp format. On returning to PAINT PLANE,you select each plane part on the left and "IMPORT" the corresponding part.
You cannot use Window's colors - they show up dayglo in RB3D
- for painting for RB3D you will need a "palette" of colors which is easily available.
YOU ARE ALLOWED 4 PERSONAL PAINT SCHEMES PER CAMPAIGN!
This process does not apply to Single Missions and Fly Now. It can be done, but it ain't easy
