Welcome and Salute!
The Campaign engine is the same. RB II is upgradeable to RB3D via the "Superpatch" which has been available for quite some time. There are a few patches which completely re-do the game in fantastic ways(they are also known as Super
),brought to you by those insane geniuses known as members of SWWISA.
The paints on the planes are incredible and the terrains are now near photorealistic.
The flight modeling is realistic, and is the closest you can come to experiencing what it was really like to fly these wood and wire crates.
This flight sim has more "immersion" than any other, for too many reasons to list here.
The thousands of hours of hard work accomplished by many, many individuals has been compiled into comprehensive patches for ease of installation.
The stumbling block of the Glide Wrapper has been chopped down enough so that most can enjoy the intended "look" of the game,as the game was written for Voodoo cards and looked terrible in Direct Draw.
So, visit the newbie links in my Sig below, familiarize yourself with utilities and patch orders, ask questions, grab a copy of RB3D and get ready for some in-yer-face action
