Had RB2 on my hd a good few years ago, and really liked it. Things moved on, though, and the last time I reinstalled it, it had lost its appeal. It didn't look so good, and I was flying FSDOE ww1. I'm thinking of reinstalling it now I hear there's all this good stuff out there. What I want to know is, how good can I get it for free? I don;t really want to run the risk of ordering the superpatch to have it not work, or have it not be my cup of tea. Is there anything out there I can download to really improve it and get it close to the superpatch? And if so, where? Also, I'l running winxp pro. Will it work with that os?

No "real" issues w/ Windows XP and the Glidos Wrapper - just some annoying CTD's when in the menu's - and the sound issue.
Best advice - go back about 30 days on this forum and look for the following;
- Wings of Valor site = most free patches - Hells Angels site = a VERY good free patch that is a one shot install - Glidos Wrapper = makes RBII work w/ Nividia based cards - Sound issue fix = get the doc on the Wings of Valor site.
Regards, Barkhorn.

Yes, there are two easy to install free comprehensive, (planes & terrain) patches. There is the old, (but still great-looking), Promised Land All-Seasons patch, available at http://www.wings-of-valor.net/ . And there is the killer Hell's Angels patch, at http://www.jamrom.com/hellsangels/main.htm . And if you don't mind a little file manipulation, there is also the very fine Western Front Patch, which gives you a huge number of extra aircraft, but which doesn't come with custom terrain, at http://www.swwisa.net/wfp/

The solution to custom terrain in WFP is to install the PL patch first. Kessleer is a much more talented artist than I am so why redo porrly what somybody else has already done well .
