I just got the game and was wondering about patches. Promise Land says that it includes all the patches so far. Does this include HA patch? Which should a newbie install? Please help???

I am new to Red Baron as well and what you need is to load in this order.
Red Baron - you already have;
Download and then install the Glidos patch;
The Promised land Super patch; See http://www.wings-of-valor.org/
The Hells Angel patch. See http://www.jamrom.com/hellsangels/downloads.htm

If you do just that there is NO NEED for the campaign manager!

When you have the Glidos patch installed then to get the good graphics, choose Glide in the preferences.

PL does not include HA, but it is compatible with HA. PL comes with its own set of custom plane models, but it doesn't change their performance from the stock game. If you install HA over PL, You will get HA's planes and effects, as well as modified flight and damage models, but you will still have PL's terrain, ground objects and sky. It is harder to fly and fight with HA. The HA site offers two options for terrain and sky, PL and another based on OTE.

I guess if you are new to patching and want a "one click does everything" solution, PL is for you. If you're comfortable moving files around, and have a little experience with flight sims, give HA a try. I love it.

Theres also a new Patch from PL coming down the pike, it covers every graphic and sound in the game, new squads/aces, FM/DM, etc.. details of the "Full Canvas Jacket" superpatch are on the PL website.

You can get into big trouble if you go too fast and muck it up!
Install PL B4 HA(follow Cas141's patch order). Visit the newbie pages listed in my sig for valuable and possibly critical info.
von Tom's Campaign Manager (CM) is indespensable for further small patches you may want to install (like invisible cockpit etc) and for restoring killed or maimed pilots and for removing patches that don't have an uninstall option etc etc.
Squad Ed lists the dates of the advent of each airdrome and plane type used by each squadron (usefull if you want to campaign with a certain plane type etc).
