Recently, rather than just doing an uninstall like I should have, I went in and erased all of red barron. Now for some reason I cannot get it to reinstall. When I click to install, nothing happens, it just goes back to my desktop. Any help here would be greatly appreciated for I am in dire straits. I'm about to go into detox. HELP!!!!!!

S!

Open up the cd with my computer and find the setup icon. Double click and that should do it.

Try running the Sierra uninstall. You have an aborted uninstall so it is refusing to re-install. In a pinch you may need to edit the registry to remove it completely.

S!

To open the cd right click on the cd icon and then select open from the popup menu. Then you can access the setup icon which will go ahead and install the game even if its still installed.

Another way to open it is to single left click on the cd icon; then click on file and select open from the pulldown menu.

I have had a similar nightmare when I used the de-installer to get rid of the "Sierra Utilities" program that is installed with Red Baron 2. It is an update program that will try and look for updates from long-defunct Sierra Support Sites.

If you have it don't use it, delete any shortcuts to it and forget that is is on your hard drive. Download any update patches directly from Wings Of Honour and whatever you do, don't uninstall Sierra Utilities even if you have de-installed Red Baron.

De-installing Sierra Utilites will delete vital some System dlls and cause extreme grief.

I don't know whether the problem happens with Red Baron 3d, but it did happen with Red Baron 2. There were a lot of extremely angry discussions targetted toward Sierra about this a few years ago.

I've not had an issue uninstalling RB3D using the Sierra tool.

I should clarify that my problem was with Sierra Utilities, a separate program than Red Baron. When I de-installed Sierra Utilities from my system, I had no choice but to reinstall Windows. Other people had the same experience and was one of the biggest bugs that got Red Baron off to a rough start when it was first released.

This was the Sierra Utilities version that came with Red Baron 2, not Red Baron 3d.
