Not finding an explanation with the patch, and not being "the sharpest tool in the shed", it took me a while to find out how the "mouse look" function is turned on in OIF. (Thanks to actiontrip.com for providing the answer.)

Now if only I can figure out how to program my CH Products joystick/Control Manager software to create an on/off switch for it so that I don't have to hold it down. Suggestions/tips anyone?

I programmed a hat switch on my Cougar so that when I push it in one direction, the first action is Alt key down, then 10 pixels of mouse into that direction, repeated until the switch is released, and then Alt key up (upon release). I assume you can do the same with a CH joystick. I prefer that to an on-off switch.

To do this with an on-off switch I'd say you'd have to program a flag to be turned on/off when your switch is depressed (I assume that the CH software also has flags or something) and to programe e.g. a hat switch to behave as I describe above only when the flag is turned on.

Pyker,
Yes, as you suspected, there is a way to program an on/off toggle, and I finally read the manual last night and figured out how to do it. Your method of programing the button (hat switch, I assume) to change your view repeatedly in small increments (like a pan function) is clever. If I weren't using TrackIR, I'd probably want to set mine up like that too.
Thanks for the reply!

Knot, do you mean you're using TrackIR in OIF?! Am I missing something?
