I'll have to say that I like the "lite grey" nose!

They all look sweet, but I would choose the light grey. The dark patch breaks the streamlined nose, somehow...

hmmm... when I said the light grey I was thinking on the "All grey". The last one... All grey. No dark colours... That's the baby.
"All grey nose"
Right. clear now...

Over on the Flight Sim forum, Hornit idetified the half grey nose as the one present on the majority of C-model Hornets. The all grey one looks nice, but that scheme is more appropriate for the F/A-18E Superhornet, not the F/A-18C, which is modeled in Hornet Korea.

Hornit, I have a question. What is the beige stuff at the tip of the F/A-18's nose?

Hornit, good point about the "Half Grey". The beige nose really needs to be there as in this pic from the Boeing web site. Nice to lose the top black patch though... -supersonik-

Really? What's the weapon on the centerline, Hornit? A CBU? The Jedi Master

From what I've seen (although not 100% sure), the lite-gray scheme seems more common with the A-version, and the half-gray is with the C-version. A question regarding both varaints - I think the A has is airbrakes located between the vertical stabs, but I'm not so sure with the C. Is it on the vertical stabs too, like the E? And what's the easiest way to vis-ID one from the other? Is it with those fins on top of the LERX above the air intakes (referring to Hornit's plane in supersonik's post) Just wondering. Thanks. ------------------ BlackThor 06, ejecting!

Identical unless you see them side-by-side, then you see why they call the E/F "Super," as in "I'd like to super-size that!" I'd like to see the Super Hornet next to a YF-17--that would be a funny picture! The Jedi Master

I actually meant that what are the visual differences of the A and C versions. And I thought it was Leading Edge Root(?) Extensions, and LEX was for the F-16. Sorry.
