Well I just had to get this. I tried to install it and had a CAB11 read error.

I tried reinstalling and it works just fine!

Maybe it is something to do with the disks? My disk is red and does not have the code on the disk at all. It is on a sticker inside the box. It took the code first try.


I have to admit I was a little nervous. So, let's start a list of drives that are known to run it.

Code in case, as well. Plain-jane Sony 16x DVD I bought yesterday and slapped into the comp in place of my old CD-ROM. I'm also running it on a 2.0Ghz pentium, with 512mb RAM and a Geforce 3. Felt very naughty after launching the game following all those red Xs during the system requirements check.

Worked just fine in my Lite-on DVD drive, cant remember the model and havent checked it in my dvd-burner yet.

I have installed and run the game on two different computers, both with Pioneer 105S slot drive DVDs. No problems.

Possible fix for the starforce thing-me?:

"Email support@star-force.com, attach the file generated by the starforce window when you press information. They will send you a new key and it works. Don't need a new DVD drive.

I can finally play the game!!!"

This is for the Red DVD which I guess is the same as the US release.

Had no problems with the installation of the Starforce software DVD check. UBI could have made the serial number tab in the box a little larger though. I found difficulty in trying to read the print without a magnifying glass.

It costs $89 at Circuit City and comes with a $20 mail-in rebate. It installed smooth and loaded the game without incident.

Liteon LTD 163 DVD 16x and it is doing fine with SH 3.

Had the same problem reading a CAB file. But it kept happening and happening.

Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

This was on a Samsung CD-RW/DVD SM-308B drive.

As it turns out it, a firmware upgrade from dell fixed it. Which was a great relief.
