HOT DAMN, It is now working. You all were right it was Mcafee. I unistalled it and put the trial version of norton. It works like a charm. I did not even have trouble with starforce. I have been mostly playing with the mission editor. Wow this game is nice. The event camera althought not realistic is one coooool feature. Thanks everybody for all you help. You probably saved me from a massive heart ataack or two.

Well, just to let you know that you aren't the only one. My McAffee just detected the same virus on mine. After the 2nd install, I have just set it up to ignore the file...it also did it when I installed the patch. Definitly something there that McAffee doesn't like.

WOW! Glad to hear it Just can't for the life of me work out how your McAfee indicates a 'virus' and mine never has in 8+years of installing hundreds of games?

What version of McAfee where you using out of coincidence?

It's just the "Starfore" copyright protection. Also, I assume you don't have an updated Mcaffee, otherwise it would have ignored this!

Just disable McAffee and reinstall or hit option to ignore the "Virus" and continue with your install.

Same thing happened on my Brothers computer, (2003 Dell with unupdated Mcaffee), that was also "Virus" free!
