What the hell....? So that's where my officers went. Wolfar you @#$@#&*#...you bribed them to join your crew, ey?! \:D \:D \:D

Gotta love this game. I am starting my 7th patrol now with my VIIb. Last night I finished my 6th with my first convoy attack off Ireland. It was very, very intense. Got about 26.000 tons overall, until the escort finally chased me away. Playing at 59% realism.

For now I can't be bothered with manual TDC. It's tough enough as it is \:D

BTW, the conning tower going under in a storm is real funny. I find myself making gargling (sp?) sounds everytime...how sick is that? \:D

Last night, returning home from the 6th patrol I ended up in a severe storm. I was running at about 13 knots, but the tower kept going under and the engines sounded like they where almost stalling everytime that happend; not sure I imagined it, but speed went down to 7 knots each time, so I went to flank speed enabling me to run the waves better. Had to do this for almost 2 days, when the storm finally let up.

My specialty has become heavy fog attacks. I've avoided ramming every time and have rarely missed with my torps.

I get within about 600m at flank speed, then down to full speed up until just under 500m and then cut it to 1/3rd and basically drift into visual and let the eel go. I use stop and even back slow to fine tune staying between 300 and 350m.

I only do this on lone merchants. You can bet I won't be fooling around in the fog with any escorts around.

The graphics of ships moving in and out of the fog are amazing.
