The complete Russian Front mod was once available as a series of downloads from the creator's site in Russia. I don't know if it is still available. To avoid confusion, you should know that the 'real' Russian Front mod made several changes to the game including renaming towns and airfields on the default Ardennes terrain.
The 'Russian Front mod' available at ww2fighters.org is actually an ala cart version of the original total mod (in other words, a dissasembled version of the total mod that is offered piecemeal), and even with all the components downloaded from ww2fighters.org you won't get the total conversion. The vehicles and planes will be changed, but the Ardennes map will stay the same. I believe the same is true if you are using the Base Mods addon CD compiled by Swiper.
If you are wondering why, the reason is (if I remember correctly) that MIKH's original version of his install package didn't work on Western computers. A bunch of us (primarily Swiper)figured out how to install most of MIKH's mod files through alternate means ... and then MIKH re-released his mod package on his private site in Russia and that version worked for everybody who downloaded it. The gutted "version one" files remained available at ww2fighters.org. At least that's how I remember the story.
Anyway, if you download from ww2fighters or use the mods CD, then the terrain and map stay default. If you download the full mod from MIKH's site, then the map files get changed and you'll end up with a modded ww2.exe as well; you might as well then rename that version's folder and reinstall WWII Fighters a second time.
