Not dead, just that most of the action goes on over here... http://www.ww2fighters.org/

There are still new mods being made, new theatres being developed and a fair number posting on the forums.

Yeah i've been a member of ww2fighters.org since its early years as wwiifighters.com (about 3 almost 4 years ago). Go under name Down'nFlames. Don't go there much anymore since i'm more into Blackhawk Down and IL-2FB now. Still a great game.

Yes, a great game. Has it's faults like all of them but still great fun to fly. Perhaps if it was easier to find a copy there might be more people still using it. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a budget version available.

Deer hunting is great! One time I messed with the .ini file and had 1000+ deer running around in one spot. it was pretty crazy, seeing all those deer running across the snow. I could get quite a few of them in one strafing pass lol.

I've been neglecting WWII Fighters recently but a quick visit to WW2 Fighters shows just how much is going in with this sim! \:\) I'm doing a lot of downloading, new terrains, new missions, new skins. Can't wait to try Malta. Great stuff.

Why has no one put out a budget version of this sim?

I was told it's that EA sold the rights to the Jane's name under the WW2 theme sim-wise. Xicat did "Attack Squadron" under the Jane's name and you know how that worked out . Maybe EA will get the rights back soon. As far as the sim itself goes, no further development is being done by EA. Latest patch available was done in 99, the 1.08 version patch. Anyone know something I don't related to any of this?

EA closed the whole Jane's line after the release of F-18 with no plans to open it back up. Sadly EA tossed the Janes flight sim line into the sea of forgetfulness and whats even wrose when various modders in the community (just ask the F-18 guys) ask for things like the source code they get evil, even though there is no more aspect for an commerical profit.
