Does anyone here have a favorite platform so far in Dangerous Waters? I've only played the subs up to now but I'd have to say the Akula is my favorite platform by far. I just like the look and feel of playing it and the Akula hull itself looks quite cool indeed. \:D

I also like the Seawolf. The Sonar suite is a bit more difficult to use though compared to the Akula.

The Kilo is alright. Pretty good firepower but you really miss that high top speed if and when a torpedo gets fired at you.

I cut my teeth on the LA-boat in Janes's SSN-688(I) Hunter-Killer, it's still the platform I drive most often. :p

FFG-7. Like a 450 feet long swiss army knife.

Though I wish they had left the ASROC aboard.

I've only manned the FFG, yet. Although I've directed the 60's quite a lot, I've yet to fly it.
Yeah, ASROCs would help as right now in FFG vs sub scenarios you HAVE to get the kill with the helo because the sub can nail you from far outside the effective range of your own torps.

For me it is the Los Angeles 688(i) Hunter Killer. I just like the look and feel of the boat, analog displays etc. A very close second is the Akulas.

I've been enjoying the Kilo lately as well. It requires much different tactical applications considering speed constraints and battery levels.

Weapons are a whole different ball game as well.

Why? It's sexy and quiet. I must say I still need work on it's TMA and SONAR (only driven it from fire control and NAV MAP, so far).
