Quick question for those who might know the answer:
Just picked the uncut version up this week on DVD. I love the film and have watched the full length version several times back when I lived in the UK, but it's been over 8 years since I saw it.
Now, according to the back of the DVD box, the film is 5 hours long. Fair enough. However, if one reads the little spiel by Mr Petersen on the inside, he states twice that the uncut version is actually 6 hours long. So whats up with that?
Is the uncut version missing an hour? Not very uncut if is is then is it. I'd say its about 17% cut if thats the case. Are we to get a 'Das Boot the Uncut, Uncut Version' next year? Or did Wolfgang get his maths wrong?
I am confused.
