Hi, I'm pops and I am new here. Just wanted to see if there are any juices flowing yet for the immense possibilities of co-ordinated online competitive play for these two sims when they are linked together.

*waiver*

That is if we ever see them.

Depending on their capabilities, I think we could have a pretty serious go at something like this. What are your feelings if I may ask?

Welcome to SimHQ pops. Glad to have you aboard if you'll pardon the expression.

I beta tested the Silent Hunter I add-ons and I have been looking forward to Silent Hunter II and Destroyer from the moment I heard about it. I'm a bit concerned with all the delays and such.

We'll see how it goes. I did hear that there will be no dynamic campaign which is a big let down for me personally, but I'm hoping that Destroyer will be fresh enough to be interesting.

Hi KC23 - SimHQ,

Yes, I have heard those as well. However, I have just come away from a severe ass kicking (receiving end) and expect very little from this pitiful industry.

I would like to see meaningful multiplayer capabilities from DC/SH. This, I feel could be its saving grace, if there is some organization and spirited support from our end.

Man, I'm a glutton for punishment.

Thanks for your reply. Best wishes.

pops,

I know of what you speak, however I do have some excellent news for you that is a sure bet.

Steel Beast just came out and I kid you not 8 player internet play is common place. The AI is great, it seems very realistic and is a kick to play. The mission builder is perhaps the best one ever made.

You can play two in each tank if you like. Coop Vs AI, head to head, head to head with AI added ... custom missions. Its all there and all working and available right now.

Check out the Steel Beast forum here to hear all about it. I give you my personal word you won't be disappointed if you have even the smallest of interest in modern tank warfare.

Once again this isn't some pie in the sky promise about something that is coming up. Its here, its done and it works.

Hmmmmmmmmm....Bad dream. Hehe...My friend talked me into Iron Fist. And that is what it felt like after playing it.

Will give this a look, but if I gotta crawl down through a steel hatch, I'd rather it be something without treads. I will give it a look though. Thanks for the heads up on it.
