If any of you are play Fighting Steel at all nowadays, I'd really like your opinion. I see it now has its third patch out; did it do the trick? I.e. help much of what you feel/felt nedded correction? I've read detailed accounts of Jutland, (yes, WWI I know,) and naval conflict around Guadalcanal in the early stages of the campaign, but other than knowing to cross the enemy's 'T,' (and prevent him from doing the same to me!) I know little in terms of the tactics and technology involved. Thus, I wouldn't be in a position to judge its realism.

Would anyone care to share some feedback? Worth it?

Robert

Robert,

I have just played the demo. I have read a fair number of reviews and all have been less than stellar re: stability and graphics and lack of air units. The game developer has also ended all support ( I read that either here at SimHQ or somewhere ) for the project, so patches are unlikely unless the sim community gets involved and adds some fixes.

From what I read you money may be better spent elsewhere ? But then the question becomes " Where do you find a decent WW 2
naval sim ? "

Jah, that seems to be a pretty accurate assessment, I'm finding mon. I guess (the third patch having been released the - source of some encouragement - I just hope it bucks a recent trend and isn't 99% multiplayer fixes.) Anyway, it seems like you'll be able to find the game for about $25-30 soon, so... plus, good point: where else do you find a WWII Naval Ironclad sim?

Thanks for the feedback Bro!

Robert
