For anyone interested, the game has apparently been released.
It has been reviewed at Gamespot (midrange score). It appears to be a sim for the casual sim fan and may not be one for "hardcore" sim jocks. They built the game on the Warbirds III engine which I am not familiar with but that is somewhat out of date graphics wise. I think they may intend it to be assessible for players with a wide range of pc's.
What was most enjoyable in the Gamespot review is that it ends with a nod to our beloved BoB, which they describe as THE standard. Quite right of course but good to see in print just the same.

Interesting, SNAFU. Excellent that they mention Rowan's BoB. Is there a link?

Found an old review of BoB, which is very complementary http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/rowansbattleofbritain/review.html Ah.. a search does it: http://www.gamespot.com/finder/findgames.html A pretty reasonable conclusion, I think. "At its value pricing of $20, Battle of Britain is an attractive purchase for nonhardcore flight sim fans who don't want to sink a ton of money into a simulation that will just end up frustrating them. While Rowan's Battle of Britain remains the standard for hardcore flight sim enthusiasts and those looking to experience true World War II flight simulation--with all of its challenges and frustrations--The History Channel Battle of Britain has a better chance of expanding the genre's appeal."
