Ah, thank you, then this does sound very encouraging - the old MS FF Mk 1 gameport I use is very 'hair-trigger' - my Spit flicks into a roll when I apply a little back pressure, unless I am using a large DZ and much reduced elevator through CTFJ - good luck and many thanks.

Now that I have got XP I cannot run CTFJ3 which I am now missing as I also would like joystick sensitivity reduced. Looks like I'll be back with Win98 soon at this rate, with my new second hand MSoft joystick just so I can run it..

Prion and other Cougar users.
If you use the profile of James Hallows for BOB which comes with the original CD, then you will see that he uses the ANT rotary control which gives infinite variety to sensitivity of the control surfaces.
With just a twitch of the rotary i now can change to moderate for dogfighting back to docile for landing, or whatever.
I am now looking for an input for the RNG rotary to use for pitch control?
Any Cougar user doing that?

Intriguing.

For those with less sophisticated hardware we are adding some fixes in the v096 and v097 code that give greater stability and make control surface motion sensitive to speed (they will be harder to move at speed). Subjectively I find am these fixes in testing very helpful.

For Cougar users -
Ref my previous post I have changed the profile somewhat. I found that if in the prefs I went to controller,Under prop pitch I changed it to "First Joystick U- axis". This made the ANT controller not only change the sensitivity, as already reported , but it also gave me prop pitch control! Trouble was, I didn't want to change the sensitivity value when i changed prop pitch.

So in order to get round this, I changed the curve values to -1 and 0 and +1 only , so, although it still changed, the values were very small and they weren't noticed.

To change the joystick values I made "curve" statements on the U:M:D button , thus giving three different values selectable in flight.

For some reason, however, i cannot get wheel brakes. In the .tmm file I have them as per James Hallows', ie Shift , and Shift . But they don't work.
Any ideas?

IMO it should be "," and "." without shift.

Salute! all,
Cas141, I don't know if you were able to sort out your brake issues with the Cougar and your pedals but I was able to eventually with a bit of help.
Now I can pull up easily without frantically searching for the keyboard keys and steer on the ground much more precisely. There is a software bug which prevented the Cougar from reading the inputs correctly from the Simpeds. I don't know if you have isssues with the CH pedals
This statement generates a held down 'k'...change k to '.' or ',' as necessary.

LBRK 5 1 (0 10) (/H k)
RBRK 5 1 (0 10) (/H k)

This comes form the following thread at Frugal's.
http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=55944&highlight=brake+statement

The second part relates to how to make the Simpeds work properly, I think with the CHs and should be OK.

BTW, I know I promised to send you my profiles for BoB and can't remember if I did. I was never able to become as deadly online with the Cougar in Red Baron as I am with the old, decrepit and remaindered MSFF2.It has been collecting dust most of the last twelve months.I fired up BoB and was able to land the Spit 3 out of 4 attempts. \:D
I am getting back into it in anticipation of KOE. Hopefully the Cougar will be of more use with it.

Email me if you want what I have. It is not complete but much more intuitive than the one that ships with the Cougar.
