RAF St. Eval was a strategic Royal Air Force station , the color of the recce Spitfire camouflage was a kind of "pink/off white" although several sources give this early model (PR MkI G) more of a pink/tan color ( the camouflage in-game color is light pink ) , which is the one used for it. These early models retained their guns.

Alastair Donald Mackintosh "Sandy" Gunn, was a Scottish Spitfire photo reconnaissance pilot who was taken prisoner during the Second World War. Gunn took part in the "Great Escape" from Stalag Luft III in March 1944
