I know this is a tragic event, and I don't mean to make light of it, but I have to admit I laughed when I saw this. It's like something out of a movie.

Cat filter accidentally put on during RCMP double murder press conference

It begs the question, why do they have a cat filter?

We have miraculous technology, and this is what we do with it.
Because we can.

Also, there's a general trend towards more childish behavior, whether that's all the talk about microaggressions (usually by people who have never experienced a macro aggression), safe spaces, comfort cushions, throwing temper tantrums if you don't get the wedding cake that you deserve (!) - well, whatevs I hear from the world, some of it probably exaggerated.

Follow up question: why is it the default setting?

Considering there is a multi million dollar lawsuit against the RCMP for sexual harassment, I doubt this was accidental.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Sorry, I meant, why do they - the RCMP - have a cat filter, and to Dart's point, why is it the default?

Imagine someone close to you has been murdered, and you anxiously tune into the police briefing only to see the officer with animated cat ears and whiskers. You'd have to wonder about their competence, and how seriously they were taking the case.

I'm not surprised at all.

B.C. is the traditional dumping ground for the RCMP's screw ups, from an organization that isn't overly competent to begin with.

The cat filter is also used a lot in certain **ahem** adult-oriented videos or so I've heard. biggrin
