Civil war fps that looks pretty good, had an eye on it for a bit but worried about time zones and player levels. I've played Ultimate General into the ground and looking to scratch my Civil War itch still.

I did add it to my wanted list some while ago.

The problem with these types of games, and one I came across with 'Holdfast : Nations At War' is that it requires a little discipline when assembling a group for 'volley fire'. Yes,some will march to the front lines and form up properly but when playing with randoms that can't be guaranteed.

Having said that,I don't know exactly what the game mechanics are for this game but I did watch a few Youtube videos and forming up and firing discipline did seem to play a part in the game play.

I have a tremendous amount of interest in the ACW but zero interest in playing an online PvP shooter.

I play it every weekend. It can be great fun and is very immersive. It's definitely best played with a group of people. I'd recommend joining a company.
In the US and Europe there's always full servers during the weekends and weeknights. In Australia, you might be limited to just playing during the weekends at odd times. I'm not familiar with very many active players down there.

You can still have fun playing solo and just jumping in, but it's hit or miss. The game has some in game voice options that work, but every once and a while you get groups of people who either don't have mics or just don't care about using anything like teamwork or cooperation.
