Some of you may recall that we had fairly deep discussions when the original SPAW was in production about how historically accurate we should make it. Generally, the consensus was to keep it as accurate as possible within the constricts imposed by the game.
Keep in mind that the original SPAW was a '42 to early '44 scenario
Well, that was then and this is now.
With the introduction of the slot free plane system which led to the aircraft inventory system, players can fly any set of planes they desire including the ability to make their own set.
This has led us further from the historically accurate world to one where anything goes. It's not bad, mind you, because the flexibility built into the 1.6 development line still allows history buffs to stick to the real world but a player could, for example, fly SPAW with plane sets from 1939 to 1946.
So anyhow, here's the question.
Should I add some carriers that were not actually involved in the South Pacific Air Wars (SPAW)?
Specifically the ones that were lost earlier at Coral Sea and Midway, Lexington, Yorktown, Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, Shoho and Hiryu and the late war Taiho, pictured here -
I would appreciate input, thanks.
