So... if you evacuate the air from the structure, how much does it weigh? (Sorry not able to watch video now if this is answered there). If the structure sans air was lighter than air, why not use it for airship cells? No gas, no hull to maintain.. well i guess it weighs more

"Pound for pound" aerogel is extremely impressive with compressive force. Tensile and/or shear? Not so much. Remove the air and it really is practically "nothing" at that point.
