AMD Previews First 7nm Gaming Navi GPU: Radeon RX 5700 GPU, 10% Performance Uplift Over RTX 2070
The Radeon RX 5700 has been announced and is the first 7nm Navi gaming part. AMD will be launching the NAVI RX 5000 family at E3 in June. The Radeon RX 5700 is being pitched against the NVIDIA RTX 2070 GPU
The RX 5700 is a mainstream card and in the demo shown fluctuated between equal performance (CPU bottleneck?) to up to 10% performance differential against the RTX 2070 part shown.
The company will be handing out more details on the card in June at E3 [on sale in July]
AMD’s announcements showcase its effective management and turn-around by Lisa Su – to the point where the company has opened the Computex 2019 conference at the first and foremost keynote.

AMD Launches RDNA [GPU] Macro Architecture: PCIe 4.0, 1.25x IPC And 1.5x Performance Per Watt Upgrade Over GCN
Most interestingly .. it features a completely new compute unit design.
This results in reduced latency, higher bandwidth availability ( on a per-core basis) and lower power consumption.
The RDNA macro-architecture also features streamlined graphics pipeline which features “high clock speed”. ...If this is true then we should be seeing some pretty big performance gains.
Finally, here is the kicker, RDNA fully supports PCIe 4.0 which means NAVI GPU is slated to be the first PCIe 4.0 gaming GPU in the world. This is great news because it means the company is looking to future proof its lineup for the get go – something its known for and has a considerable amount of goodwill for,

AMD Unveils 3rd Gen, 7nm Ryzen 3000 CPUs With Up To 12 Cores, Up To 4.6 GHz Clocks & Massive 15% IPC Uplift – Flagship To Cost $499 US
The chip features a base clock of 3.8 GHz base and 4.6 GHz boost which when put together is just stunning for a 12 core part that will hit retail shelves on 7th July for $499 US.
AMD Ryzen 7 3000 Series Processors – 8 Core/16 Thread Ryzen 7 3800X For $399 and Ryzen 7 3700X For $329 US
Not only was the Ryzen 7 3700X (4806 CB points) able to beat the Core i7 (3726 CB points) part which boosts up to 4.9 GHz but also consumed much lower power than its competitor.
AMD Zen 2 Core Architecture Achieves 15% IPC Uplift
The 7nm 16core/32thread CPU was shown behind closed doors. It performed well and is rumored to sell for $799. It competes with Intel's $2000 part. Don't know when it will become public.

AMD Hasn’t Abandoned Ryzen Threadripper, HEDT Brand To Return In Full Force With Up To 64 Cores
let’s talk about the fact that Ryzen 3000 12 and 16 core processors will essentially replace the 12 and 16 core Ryzen Threadripper 2000 series CPUs but AMD put an end to certain rumors that claimed that AMD might have abandoned HEDT
AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su:
“You will see more [Threadripper] from us; you will definitely see more... If mainstream is moving up, then Threadripper will have to move up, up—and that’s what we’re working on,”

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6 Core CPU Benchmarks Leak Out, Knocks Out Intel’s i9-9700K At Price/Perf – Higher IPC Than Intel Coffee Lake, 6% Faster in PUBG
Gaming was a major stronghold of Intel CPUs but it looks like Zen 2 being this good might take that advantage away in a majority of properly optimized multi-core gaming titles. Expect more information in the coming weeks for the new Ryzen 3000 processors.
Another rumor/leak like we've been getting for a while -- probably close to accurate. The AMD advantage was not large in these leaks (a few percent). But, it was an advantage. We'll see July 7.

AMD And Samsung Announce Partnership – Radeon Coming To Your Smartphone?
Today’s announcement is a truly disruptive move, as this solidifies Samsung’s plans to roll out its own graphics silicon which is a rare play in this industry. Is it possible AMD and Samsung will launch something that looks very similar to a Navi GPU, just heavily scaled down to fit inside a phone’s’ thermal envelope? Very interesting times ahead!

AMD confirms lack of PCIe 4.0 support on older motherboards
[AMD spokesperson] "Pre-X570 boards will not support PCIe Gen 4. There's no guarantee that older motherboards can reliably run the more stringent signaling requirements of Gen4, and we simply cannot have a mix of "yes, no, maybe" in the market for all the older motherboards. The potential for confusion is too high. "

AMD announces Radeon Pro Vega II Duo, a dual Vega 20 graphics card
This is worlds first dual 7nm GPU graphics card. It features two Vega 20 processors, each with full 64 Compute Units (unlike Radeon VII which only has 60 enabled). The GPUs can carry four stacks of HBM2 memory with up to 32 GB of capacity. This means that the Duo variant will be equipped with 128 CUs (8192 Stream Processors) and 64 GB of HBM2 memory.
The new Radeon Pro Vega II will be offered with the new Apple Mac Pro, which will retail for around $35,000
“AMD continues to develop amazing graphics technologies to accelerate workflows for professionals who rely on DaVinci Resolve for faster color correction and editing,” said Dan May, president, Blackmagic Design. “Radeon Pro Vega II delivers outstanding performance, especially when DaVinci Resolve is put to work with 8K video footage combined with various filters.”

AMD Stock Bounces After Major Bank Admits It Made The “Wrong Call”
Morgan Stanley reverses call on AMD, sees “positive near-term catalysts”
[AMD] is trading at a very high price to earnings ratio.. its expected PE ratio at around 30:1. For comparison, Intel’s (NASDAQ:INTC 45.1 1.23%) PE hovers around 6:1. This is somewhat to be expected since AMD is all about growth potential while Intel has saturated its market.

Ryzen 3000 series 7nm out on July 7. More information on the high-end Motherboards. Apparently, AMD is going "all in" to try and take the high-end CPU/PC hardware crown from Intel.

X570 Platform Focuses On High-Performance, Value Aspect Fades
With X570, AMD has made the decision to go all out on the X570 platform, cutting no corners and making no sacrifices, but to do this, additional costs have been put in place.
To accommodate the features of the X570 platform, AMD has produced the X570 Chipset in-house, a change compared to previous AM4 chipsets produced by ASMedia. The X570 Chipset reportedly costs more to manufacture,
Chiang also mentioned AMD is positioning itself as a premium, high-performance [CPU/MB] brand, moving away from the long-time reputation as being a value-oriented company.
I won't be surprised if AMD CPU/MB prices increase if/as their performance begins to clearly exceed Intel. On the other hand, Intel still has brand name recognition. That should moderate AMD product costs. And, presumably, 550 and 530 motherboards will be cost effective. We'll see in a month.

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X CPU Official: 16 Cores, 32 Threads, 4.7 GHz Boost, $749 US Price, Launch in September
the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X gives HEDT performance on a mainstream platform, competing directly against Intel’s 16 core, Core-X processors (Core i9-9960X) at a much lower price point.
AMD’s Next-Gen X570 Chipset – First Mainstream Platform To Support PCIe Gen 4, Feature Rich and Ready For Ryzen 3000 CPUs
The X570 platform will be an all PCIe Gen4 solution, which means this would most probably be the first consumer platform to feature support for the new PCIe standard.
The 12core/24 thread is nominally on sale July 7. It and the 16 core are actually two 8 core chips in the same package -- much as Threadripper. Have to wait for tests to see if the interconnect does the job.
