I've noticed that I've been awarded a duplicate medal (DSO twice rather than DSO and DSO with bar).

I've noticed on the MOD page there is a MOD to deal with it. Could someone confirm do I have to use JSGME if I'm only using this MOD? Is there any other way to stop them? Or manually change the second award to the correct one?

I don't know for sure how it works it the British Military, but in the US Military you are awarded a second medal, the Oak Leaf Cluster, or bar just indicates you have a second one so you don't have to wear two of the same medal. This works the same for campaign ribbons where the second one is usually represented by a star.
