Hi,
Regards mates, I have one gameport Combat stick and I would moded those oldfashioned joy to a fully suitable usb MMJoy2 hardware. Then some one knows the wiring schema to connec the buttons of those grip to MMjoy2?
Then will add more potes as trimmers and some switch to have some kind of refurbished "FrankenCombatstick".
Thx alot for your kinddly attention.
Ignacio

Yes, and is simple to do, because CH's (like Suncom throttle) use diode matrix for grip HAT and Buttons.

In grips is not required modifications.*

You just need remove the PCB in base, but keep the connector of cable that goes through gimbal pole for grip.

Fit the Arduino inside and connect the pots in axis inputs - each potentiometer require add one wire in one of the pins, the original wiring is for use pot' as "resistance" and hence use only two wires, for USB controller is need 3 wires, for use pot' as "voltage divider"

In Arduino pins for Columns and Rows connect then to grip cable connector following a 4x4 matrix:

The connection for red wire need be set in MMjoy2Setup as POV HAT output.

* An detail, CH POV HAT (China HAT) in (gameport) Combastick is set for work in 4 way only, then the hole in grip top panel for this HAT pole is (+ -) square, for prevent that pole press two buttons at same time, what is required for 8 way POV HAT.

If want use POV as 8 way - what IMHO have little use in modern flight games, you need modify the hole for a circle. Is explained there:

No, the PCB under HAT's and buttons in CombatStick grip already have the needed diodes.
Same in Suncom SFS throttle.

Hi..Sokol
Blue and brown wires are in the potentiometers but not in the stick wires.
Is that correct??

Colors of wires may have been changed during production over the years...

In the connector coming from grip (diode matrix) you have 8 wires.
Assume that first four is columns and the next four is rows (or vice versa).
The only wire that need be in correct place is the one coming to POV HAT - in this know scheme is RED.

Ideal is press a button or HAT and test the continuity, to be sure.

The potentiometer connections (wires) has no relation with buttons/HAT's connections (diode matrix). BTW - You need add a wire in the pot pin unused.

Hi...
Seams my combat stick is diferent, each switch works connected to green wire as you see in the picture...
[Linked Image]
Then I connected whole as one row (suposing each swich have is diode), and green wire as Column, then assign D0 column green wire,...and C0 the row (rest of wires joined).
And dont works properly because all switches gives an signal 01 button, then seams each switch in those situation have not diodes.
I dont know if I did some kind of mistake, or its another kind of trouble.

Thx mates.
