Progress of Flight Model - Martinsyde.

Left to complete:
-Damage boxes partially done
-instrument panel needles
-finish naming hierarchy
-misc adjustments

Knowing this may never be fully incorporated into WOFF, anyone is welcome to help with
-making detailed skins
-flight model adjustments
-testing when complete

I know nothing about making virtual models, but even though I'm a newcomer I've already had complaints about planes I'd like to see (and fly [and kill]). Being a firm believer in putting my money where my mouth is I can't complain about something not being done without at least trying to do it myself. I'm not asking for full professional-level schooling, but if someone can give me at least a few tips, starting from the basics, I would really like to learn how to contribute more than just praise to this amazing sim.

Hey there Sailor_Steve, what are your hobbies? Coding, painting (skinning), etc..? Hard to tell how you can contribute without knowing where your interests lie.

Model is about 90% done. That's as much time as I'm willing to invest with one plane. BuckeyeBob has graciously accepted to test the plane and work on its flight model. I'm moving on to the next model and I may revisit the martinsyde if anything needs fixing.

My actual hobbies are all hands-on - model building, music, historical research. As far as computer game modding is concerned I'm one step away from being a complete novice. What I'd like to learn is the creation of new planes. As I said, I realized that if I really want to see a new plane in the game I need to learn how to do it myself. I guess this includes everything from learning how to create the plane to painting it and making the cockpit - the whole shebang. I know it's a daunting task, but my thinking is one step at a time.

I finally got around to watching your video, and that Elephant is lovely! And that gives me an idea. I guess the first thing I need to learn is skinning, because I have a model I built for my hands-on airwar game with markings I did myself (as in made my own decals based on photographs) that I really want to do for that plane. If anybody can help me there please let me know. It doesn't have to be public - a PM will be fine.

Pity the poor bugger assigned to fly one. Might as well fly a target drone. But it would be a great addition to the sim !

Oh, loverly!

Of course it helps that the Albatros C-series is one of my favorites.
