That 2 similar movies at the same time formula is just bizarre. I never realized. But then again I pay very little attention to Hollywood. 85% of the stuff they pump out is crap. I will go to a theater to see Hurricane, if it comes to Canada. Rare, yes. But not unprecedented. Weren't there recently two movies in the same year that portrayed Dunkirk? And about 25 years ago we had "Tombstone" and "Wyatt Earp" very close to each other. I'm sure there are many other examples, but those two sprung to mind.
SALUTE TO ALL!

I recently watched '303 Squadron' hoping that, being made by Poles it would be better than 'Hurricane'.......it wasn't.

For the most part, Hollywood war movies have been crap since the end of the 90’s. They really are just overly-simplified action movies. Long gone is the golden age (roughly 1960’s though 1980’s) where we got so many classics like Tora, Tora, Tora, Patton, A Bridge Too Far, Apocalypse Now and Glory.

You mentioning DBW,I was going to find my DVD and re-watch it but then I remembered I gave it to a charity shop because I thought I would never watch it again That film did have a bit of dodgy CGI in it but it didn't matter as overall it was a fine film.

but I doubt either will get shown in cinemas here Do you have "Fathom Events" in Canada? That's a company that does special one day or two day release events at movie theaters for niche films. The most recent example I can think of is the WWI documentary that was made by Peter Jackson. It was shown in certain select movie theaters in the US for a limited time by Fathom Events.
