Someone posted here years ago a way where you can look up information on an aircraft crash or training incident.

I ask because back then I had mentioned that I had visited an F-4 crash site just north of Area 51 and I was amazed at how untouched it was and that there were even some personal effects on site. I was able to ID the pilot and WSO from the site that someone posted, but I don't remember where the website was and who posted its link. It's so far back I can't even think of how to do a forum search for it.

Does anyone know?

This might help you bones, http://accident-report.com/usaf.html

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

For a split second I read the thread title as "Finding UFO Crash Info".

I was about to say something smart like send an email to David Duchovny and see if he can help. biggrin

Thanks but it only goes up to 1955 or so.

This crash occurred in the 80s.

Hello,
I'm the owner of the VegasHikers.com
Anyway, I believe that you are looking for the F-4 crash site just North of Area 51.
So, this is the crash site.
http://www.vegashikers.com/pic/20171214B/p1.html

This F-4D (#66-0227) crashed in 1979 near the North gate of Area 51.
There are hundreds of debris still up on the hill for more than half miles.
If you want to visit there, just be careful with "Camo Dude" (the private security : google it and watch youtube video of them)

The F-4E (#73-1180) crash site which MikeW attached the link (http://www.vegashikers.com/pic/20171213A/p1.html) was near Tempiute mountain where is about 15 miles NE of the F-4D (#66-0227) site.

And there is another F-4E (#68-0518) crash site about 30 miles NE of F-4D (#66-0227) site.
