I'm not saying Crosby is perfect. Yeah, he got away with one there. That was nasty. I thought he lost the tip of his finger.
The NHL did however focus a lot more on slashes to hand after that. Way more slashing calls starting last season. Not always a good thing.

Also, sure Crosby can guilty of "whining". But IMO he endures a ton of abuse, mostly stick work, because of his style of play. He protects the pucks so well.

Be something if it is the Wild Cards that end up playing for the Cup.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

The Bruins are absolutely "locking it down" in their own end. If any shots did get thru to Rask, there were no secondary rebound shots. The Canes have their work cut out for them.

The McAvoy hit sure looked nasty.Even if it wasn't intentional, he sure made contact with the head. Should have been a 5 minute match major, but after the VGK debacle I think the refs were hesitant to call one. Didn't matter in the end. At he hand shake at the end, MacAvoy looked to apologize to Anderson, and Anderson seemed to be okay with it. I bet there is a one game suspension though.

Would this be good for the league ? I think it demeans the regular season.

Is this the result of the "parity" that the league has pushed so hard for, or just a fluke ?

Or do they need to go back to the older playoff set up, and get rid of the whole wild card thing ?

Apparently over half of NHL players do not like the current Wild Card set up. Personally I preferred the old 1 vs 8 format. Bettman wanted to create division rivalries.

Should know but does every team play every other team the same number of times?

Not sure exactly what you mean KK, but this may hold the answer.

I think Marchand just can't help himself. He had over a 100 points this season, he is an elite player, but that's not what he will be remembered for. It will be the slew foots, cheap shots, and especially licking the faces of Komorov and Callahan.

And yes Bergeron is an amazing, classy player.

Marchand didn't have a penalty in the playoffs till the Columbus series, then he just turned back into Mr Hyde...

And yes I'm a Bruin's fan and hate Marchand. wink

I was shocked he wasn't tossed, no way that wasn't on purpose. If you want to stop the knocking of players out of the sport like the NFL is trying to do, then you need to heavily penalize players who continue to target up high. He didn't try for the body at all, should have at least been a 5 min major at the least. The NHL is never consistent which is what makes it so frustrating to watch.

He didn't have any penalties called. There was a blant crosscheck to the back of Matthews at the end of the 2nd period, game 7. The same scrum Chara was allowed to sucker punch Tavares. It really pissed me off how soft this Leafs team is. They had no answer for that, and the refs were turning the other way.

Rumor has it that Jeremy Jacobs and Bettman are best friends.

That helps, thanks WT.

Apparently this is why Marchand was mad with Kyle Babushkas .

And if you are not aware, this is why Babushkas joked about Marchand needing his skates sharpened.

It all starts with Marchand's unsportsmanlike play. Stomping on a players stick blade. I've never seen an NHL player do that before.

He did keep the act going though with other media.

Congrats to the St. Louis Blues. That was a heavy weight 12 round fight of a series.

One of the CBC intermission studio hosts called Marchand "a spoiled brat" tonight. Thought that was hilarious. Hey, television loves to have a villain. He is creating a lot of buzz.

Glad to see St Louis win, they earned it, 52 shots to 30. Bishop stood on his head.

That was Kelly Hrudey, the ex goalie.
