I know you prefer not to use labels because they are too intrusive, but there is a mod somewhere around here (try Sandbagger's webpage) that decreases the brightness and intensity of the font colors and the background labels so they don't interfere as much with the immersion. You might want to give that a try, at least as an experiment.

Sorry that didn't work. I think JJJ65 Multimod controls the label's colours and background.

For example, I have set enemy labels opacity to 0, so all enemy labels are transparent (invisible) and I am not warned in advance about presence of enemy. Download link is here.

Emca..........welcome. For whatever it's worth.....it's ALWAYS difficult to find the other guys.....it's supposed to be. I'm pretty sure is was that way back in the day and it's modelled perfectly in WOFF. You're right....the labels can be an immersion killer, so use your TAC if you want to see what's going on around you. Select a good guy/bad guy and shift views to target to player view to see who and what they are.....you can detail that view shift to a key....bv default it's F1. Also you can hit lock view to taget and you'll see where they are from your cockpit......invaluable, and the only way I've been able to fudge an edge on the odds. No doubt you may know all this already......they're great workarounds to having everybody flying around with a colored label or a dot on them. Labels off is usually the first thing to go by the board once you have the feel of things. Good luck!
