I've been using various Firefox add-ons like Privacy Badger and Blue Hell Firewall for several years. About thirty minutes ago they all suddenly quit working. When I try to update them I get an update failed message and it tells me to check my internet connection. Anybody else have this happen? How do I go about fixing it? I've really enjoyed not having to watch a bunch of stupid adverts every time I watch a You Tube video...

I just had a banner show up that said an add-on was disabled, but it didn't list any when I clicked it. I don't recall installing any add-ons, so it must just be a Firefox thing, where it's shutting them all down for some reason.

I re-enabled mine by setting Add in debugging on, and loading the xpi files from %Users%\\Appdata\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.default\extensions

It should put all the 'working yesterday' Add ins into the temporary extensions while FF remains open, repeat if needed.

*Carefully check that you have those which you expect, and none that you don't* then continue browsing till Mozilla get their act together - this is the second time in 3 years they've dropped the ball on this.

just had the same problem , pretty annoying since I only use Firefox.

uninstall Firefox then reinstall it soon after, it will work again with the old add ons , you have sync account and it will ask you to log in.

Well, I guess Firefox fixed their problem. All my extensions are working again today. Thanks for the info!

It was a MAJOR screwup by the developers of firefox (or mozilla?) who let their certificates expire. Downloading a new firefox installer will correct the issue, otherwise just try closing it and restarting it. If you have auto updates set to enabled it should resolve itself.
