Thanks for posting!
I am going to have to check out this out.

DS9 was a fantastic Star Trek series and IMHO the last great Star Trek series.
It took a season for me to fully get comfortable with it, but once it got its sea legs ( or I adjusted to the format) DS9 is one of the best TV serials I have ever seen.
That is saying alot, but if you follow the whole story arc (which is more common these days) DS9 is outstanding.

The show was very good, but I have heard multiple stories about how hard it was. The TNG cast has talked about it from when they did guest spots, and Bill Mumy goes into it in the video below. I wonder how much of that will come out in the documentary.

I seem to recall that when Michael Dorn came to DS9 he was taken aback by the change in atmosphere from the more laid back way TNG did things, and I believe he was able to change it somewhat.

Bill Mumy is a stellar guy. He's quite active on FB.

Mumy is also part of that select group of actors who appeared on both DS9 and Babylon 5. smile

He was also the original Will Robinson in "Lost in Space" in the 60's

I recall hearing that the difference in set "atmosphere" had to do with Avery Brooks. I watched a show on Netflix called "The Captains" or something to that effect, and watching Brooks made me believe it. He was very intense, almost incoherent at times. He's either brilliant or insane. Probably a little of each!

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

Avery Brooks pretty much disappeared after DS 9. I’ve not seen him in anything since then.

I've seen him on stage. I think the theater is his passion more so than TV.
