And to think I used to play the original game to death...

What is this? I love the original Rainbow Six games 1-3.

Knowing Ubisoft, there's no question in my mind that they have been using their games over the years to push specific ideas and agendas which is a shame. I don't want my games to be a vehicle for someone else's agenda especially when it just does not belong. Its contrived and forced. It has really been ramped up and in your face over the past few years.

For pity's sake, get rid of this before the MoD see and adopt it for their next army recruitment campaign! smile

Not a weapon in sight, and presumably, the characters are a suitably diverse and inclusive mix in terms of gender, ethnicity etc etc. Whether for real or (presumably) a pastiche upon today's standards if such they can be called, this reminds me of the early '70s, when the classic Airfix box arts had all the violence airbrushed out of them, no muzzle flashes, no explosions, zilch.

O tempora, o mores!

The horn on that unicorn helmet doesn't look very 'elf and safety', though; you could have somebody's eye out with that - simply not good enough.

You should see the gameplay... all the settings are done in the same bright colours, it's like stepping into a childrens kindergarten.

Well I did love my old teddy, and I do like a bit of self-effacing humour, but I think I'd prefer Goat Simulator.

you guys are a bunch of old grumpy old man, this is the best game mode ever.......and if you bothered to play it you would realize its lore wise too....seems this is sofia telling her kid about her job in a way she could understand.

its a festive event, and siege is a esport game, so its all about comestics and recognizable silhouettes. game play is still tatical if you have a good team, and if you dont like gadgets go purist and choose recruit or dont use them. i'm glad this has kept the franchise alive, with the sucess of the division and ghost recon wildlands there is still a possiblity of a rainbow six franchise in the original style. had they kept the arcade sim, this game would be dead, look how long it took ghost recon to return.....

Siege is still crap compared to the original, simple as... that's my opinion, you don't have to like it.
I've played Siege, tried to enjoy it but it's not really my cup of tea.
Wildlands I have played to death, absolutely love it, you don't have to like that opinion either.
As to being a grumpy old man... you are absolutely effing right on that score mate!

Wich "original" ? i have the whole series and honestly, while i loved them to death in my teen, i can't go back to that. I assume you mean PVE, because PVP was always trash, it was like CS but less forgiven.
And wildlands enemy AI sucks major balls to play a facsimile tactical aproach like they teased on E3, so i take you are enjoying the team deathmatch ??

i'm eager for that "realistic" swat game too.

You seem very defensive,chill dude.

I'm more chilled than a big bag of chilled things... I'm also not a bloody 'dude'.
.I don't do the online thing because there are to many twats inhabiting that part of the game world.
Wildlands is great fun to me offline... it doesn't have to have the greatest AI in the world, I quite enjoy the freedom of moving around an open world game.
It's the same reason why I enjoyed Skyrim, Assassins Creed, Fallout etc.

At the end of the day we are all different, and that's ok.
