Joaquin is an incredibly talented actor. I’ve loved his work since “Gladiator”.

The Joker is my favorite villian.
Heath Ledger played the role best so far.
Looking forward to this.....

It is because of how he played Commodus that makes me dislike Joaquim in real life. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he's a great guy, it's just that he played Commodus in Gladiator so well, I associated Joaquim with being an evil jerk as well.

I felt the same about Jon Bernthal after seeing him play Shane in the Walking Dead. When I finall ymet him in person I told him that I was glad I met him because he is so nice and cool in real life, that it took away those animosity feelings I had from him from his portrayl of Shane.

So I need to meet Joaquim, that's all there is to it.

As for this Joker movie, at first I was not compelled, but after this trailer...I am very much intrigued.

I have only one issue. It's the way every movie about these characters goes down it's own road concerning the person's origins. I realize, naturally, that they are fictitous but still....it takes away from who the character is supposed to be.....for me anyway. In one, he's a killer who murdered Batman's parents, in another he's been nuts sincs he's been a kid, and now he was a comedian who went bonkers after being beaten up. Stick to a story!

This is probably the best compliment you could give Joaquin or any other actor for that matter. The fact that he played a role so compellingly that it actually made you dislike the real person.

Watch "Her." Maybe you'll change your mind.

You didn't like it or you liked his character? I liked Her and also his role in Signs. Phoenix will knock the Joker out of the park.

He's a very good actor. I don't like all his movies though. I did not like The Master at all. This looks very interesting as a character study of how at least this version of Joker became Joker. I think its because of his work in Gladiator that got Johnny Cash interested in having Phoenix play him in Walk the Line. I may be wrong on that but Phoenix has a story about meeting Johnny Cash.

+1. It reminds of watching Wiliam H. Macy in "Fargo" when he got arrested. That one scene was so impressive that I felt like I was watching an emotional event as opposed to a "scene." The same applies when I watched Commodus smother his father - the emotion all by itself was almost overwhelming.

That Gladiator scene was completely historically inaccurate BUT it absolutely worked at a dramatic and narrative level.
