He's got that right. Virtually everything I do now is for two things, either chasing rank, or chasing mats.

Well, I mean when I used to play Elite. Maybe I'll come back to it soon.

I've put a ton of time in to engineering and think I go about things sensibly, yet none of my ships is done. Not one. On one hand that's sort of silly, considering the effort. On the other hand it's probably a big part of why I keep at it.

No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

I’ve a chronic case of “complete-itis. Hate havin a ship not completely totally maxed out. I’ve even spent precious G5 mats to finish a grade even tho the percentages were 100. Just couldn’t stand the fact that the graphic circle had a teeny tiny sliver left not filled in. Done that more than once.

I can see myself doing the EXACT same thing! I have a boatload of engineering planned - it's not even everything, just my two combat ships (Krait Mk II & Corvette) Now I've got to acquire the requisite amount of mats to make it happen. I started farming Dav's Hope last night and it didn't seem like the numbers went down at ALL in my EDEngineering shopping list. Hopefully I'll be able to get that done and so some flying soon!

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

Thrusters should be a priority for the vette. Increases her dancing ability.

One thing to remember, don’t sweat the engineering. The ship all work FINE stock. Modding them just makes ‘em better. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve fretted about getting a ship G5-ed up. Gone out and endlessly ground out mat collecting. Then, realized that I wasn’t having an enjoyable time. What I’m getting at is sometimes the grind can overshadow the fun of just playing, even in a bone stock vessel. You all probably know this already.

Thanks, Bo - I think I do know that, but it's good to hear it from time to time!
I'll be able to get the vette to G3 with Farseer right now, can't do any better until I unlock Palin and I'm not ready to go on a trip.

yah, the Palin trip sucked. Hated every minute of it. Even G3 will make a big improvement.
