Ah, it's been a long time since we've seen someone do the Tirpitz.

I guess King Kong on top of the Empire State Building isn't in the ballpark...

Oh goody. Dear MS; Google, Amazon, Huawei, NSA, PayPal, YouTube, eBay, the CIA, FBI, Matt Busby and SimHQ et al (;D) Since I now own the internet, I would appreciate your immediate remittance of $1 Billion from each entity making money on the internet, in gold, to continue operations. Also, a small per transaction fee of 1% everything you do henceforth will be payabe to "Nix and all his friends, LLC" forever. Thanks and have a nice day. PS: That includes you Putin and your sad little internet scams.

Lieste was nearly bang on, 1/350th RN Battleship ... Although if i do stumble across a decent King Kong model, that would be frikking cool! Fw190 for scale And just so you can see the stupid small bits here are the sprues The pile, i have an idea to spruce up the turrets, we'll see how that goes further on down the track. Some PE for the cranes A semi helpful and really dark paint guide, plenty of sources available elsewhere to get this sorted anyway. The supplied base, i won't use this as i think it's ugly. Well, i may use this piece but will not use the two doorknob looking mounts that join this to the hull. Thinking of making some cradles to support it as if it is in dry dock. Hull cast marks that will need sanding and filling I waited until these items turned up before i started any work. Pontos wooden deck, a rust wash, pin vise with drill bits and some micro kristal for making windows/clear sections. The deck kit included some chain and more PE so that saved me from looking around for chain as i didn't want to use the supplied moulded piece. So that's (hopefully) everything i need, time to get cracking!

Aft deck, fantail, poop deck, stern walkway, rear obs deck..whatever this rear balcony is called it lacks any detail. I've added some card to make up for some of it with some supports (black lines) for the canvas top still to be made up to try and fill it out. Hull primed and needing a light sand. I've been using the T34 in the background as a tester for the rust wash. 20mm AA. Knocked back the barrel colour a bit, painted the magazines black to pop out some detail, grips are brown. Still need to to do the support leg in the ship colour. Pom pom barrels are done. The brown was just the left over from the 20mm grips so i splashed a coat on the sides to help fill up some gaps. Still trying to find out what colour they should be. I've seen a brassy colour and then just the ship grey. Bridge, feel free to jump in and correct me if i'm wrong with any of these names. Puttied and sanded. Plane hangars, for want of the correct term Chart room/radar room/navigating bridge? Needs a small amount of filler. Upper bridge platform, some sort of control room? Funnel, needs sanding and another putty pass.

Just shelled out for a Life Colour RN Western approaches paint set which gives me Admiralty Dark Grey (507 A) Admiralty Medium Grey (507 B) Admiralty Light Grey (507 C) Plus a couple of other colours. Those are the main three i need as well as hull red of which i will use Tamiyas and then mix to lighten it a bit. After much research i also grabbed a generic 1/350 PE WWII RN railing set that comes with ladders as a bonus, sounds like fun

Ajay, are you doing the 1942 or 1943 colour scheme?
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Man, that is very fine and detailed work for something that small. I’m impressed.

HMS Warspite was to Great Britain as USS Enterprise was to the United States. It is a shame both were not saved.
Great build, looking forward to watching this one! I have a 1/350 USS Indianapolis I am saving until I have the time and money (for EB) to do her right!
