The accent used in the musical "Come From Away" is purely fictitious and sounds weird to us
Imagine if a full fifteen percent of Canadian media had an invented sort-of-sounds-like Newfie fake accent and you'd understand how it feels to be an American Southerner.
It ranges from "hey, not a bad try" to "What the hell are they trying to do?"
While The Walking Dead usually falls in the former, the woman they have playing Alpha is really butchering whatever accent she's trying for.
It's like she's imitating what would happen if the harsh drawl of Corbin Kentucky had a baby with the tones of western Tennessee...except it has some sort of genetic birth defect.
