Anyone still playing this,if so what are your thoughts on the new patch?

It was my first game today after a long,long absence. 4 losses to start with,then a win with the N Cal and finally a 4 haul in my Tirpitz.

I'm not sure I like this new patch and the changes to CV's (although I don't play CV's anyway) but it seems to me that AA cruisers are now pretty much neutered if caught in isolation. I had a game in my AA spec'd Atlanta and Mikhail Kutuzov and the AA seemed ineffectual. With 2 CV's in the Atlanta game I shot down 3 aircraft.

It looks like DD's will be having a hard time with the CV gameplay also.

No point taking AA ships into the game.

Still playing, just not that much anymore. WG has made some horrible decisions regarding the game of late, imho. Pretty much stick to co-op lately with a few Ranked thrown in.

Right now I play more ranked than random, no CVs in ranked this season yeeeeehaaaaa

About AA cruisers, the only efficient one seems to be minotaur. One can expect to kill near 100 planes in a single game with an AA build. DM falls much, much, much shorter.

Not a fan of the CVs . . . I preferred them being different and more powerful.

I think 0.8.0 and CV rework might be a huge nail in the coffin for WoWs. I played CV a good bit prior to 8.0, but have lost interest in it. I preferred the original mechanics. And my overall gameplay has decreased in the last couple of months. I still have a year left on my premium account. Other than CV, I'm mostly a BB and DD player.

Haven't played for a long time. It was a fun ride ride but i've been hoping something world war twoish regards the naval side of it was going to come along and be a bit more simmy.

Belay that last post! On a bit of a naval kick at the moment and there isn't anything else i can find that will scratch the itch. Have'nt touched it since late 2017 so i expect there is a ton of meta i will need know about. I'm gonna dive in at about tier 4 to start with, DD's where i will be comfy then Cruisers and probably give some BB's a go.

Any major tips i will need to be aware of straight up? Not interested in CV play at all:)

I've been watching the KOTS (Kings of the Sea) tournament on Twitch the last week or so.It seems that some teams don't even field DD's any more,not because of radar but because of CV's. However that is competitive play,they are still relevant in random battles but they don't seem to be the threat they once were with the new CV game-play,especially if you have a competent CV player.

I like to equip my ships with the best AA I can and always try to bunch up for mutual AA support. That's assuming that you get CV's. I'm still seeing quite a few double CV games. Always fun when I play the Lolanta.

I'm currently working on getting a 19 point captain for my Tirpitz, however more often than not I end up in T9 and 10 games where HE spamming is my nemesis

I'm not exactly sure what the current 'meta' is, certainly CV's can play a more devastating role with their endless supply of aircraft but I'm usually happy to see them in-game. I haven't played T4 for ages so I don't know what to expect down there but there's sure to be incompetents and seal-clubbers alike. Have fun!

All good Chucksta. Only took a few games to get the groove back, t5 to t10 seemed normal in random, no surprises anyway. About half my games were double cv but no different than it seemed from when i dropped off.

T4, like you stated, was the fairly usual seal clubbing mess so that was fun for a couple of games lol. DDs still seem very relevant despite the forums and the Reddit seeming to be in tears about them. Still my favourite class next ti BBs.

How long until next ranked?

Not sure Ajay,but I've avoided ranked for quite a while. Having recently been diagnosed with high BP my doctor said to avoid ranked at all costs!

I'm not a good DD player (although my damage record was in the T4 Isokaze-183k) but that was years ago. I moan about getting up-tiered but I have yet to acquire any T9 or 10 ships,I just seem to enjoy playing at T7 and 8. I also play a lot of premium ships,I have nearly 4 million XP that would cost a fortune to convert so that's not going to happen.

So far I've bought The Atlanta,Nikolai I,Gremyashchy,Admiral Kutuzov,Graf Spee,Tirpitz,Belfast and Hood. I'd hate to add up what that cost me. I bought the Hood just so I could 100% complete the "Fly! Strike! Win!" event.

My weak point is my kill/death ratio,it sits around 1.07 while my win rate is 54%. I can't do any better but I'm happy,stats aren't everything.

All good Chuck. My win rate is stuck at 55 and change and kd overall is 2.02. I doubt any of that is going to move much owing to 6k plus battles. I should make a new account just to get 1k games up and compare, it would be interesting. I think the only ship i ever paid for was the Murmansk when it was like 15 bucks and i was feeling rich

I was being a stat whore for a bit there and had to stop looking as it was affecting my team play, plus i was getting saltier than the Atlantic. T9 10 are cool, slower gameplay generally, you just gotta make sure you are there for those last five minutes. Cruisers as usual make DD life tough and kills are sparse, all about spot and smoking the big boys.

The gameplay hasn't really changed despite all the changes, i'm still playing how i was, radar seems same same overall, just planes can constantly beat ya down a bit worse than before.
