of EAWPRO's new effects. An AI just killed it's oponent which is going down in flames. Notice that this effect is not a ground impact and that every instance of this happening will look very different every time it happens.

I am not a fan of high contrast artwork, so I have never been a fan of your graphical tweaks.
I have great respect for your coding and your history.
I am curious, what factors did you randomize to get every instance as unique? Are you still modding in assembly?

I am not trying to offend.
I guess that I am just having a flash back to when I was part of the code group, when Woody and Gibbo were playing with the particle effects

So I take it you're more a fan of Mr. Jelly's and Rotton's high contrast artwork then. No disrespect intended. (See my post below) The answer is very simple, all smoke and fire effects are randomly chosen, meaning that where apropriate these effects have some 500 frames in 4 times higher resolution at their disposal. It's just a huge array Brit, where each frame occupies one location and the routine can move from one cell to any adjacent cell or jump freely to any cell in the array. Just don't ask me what I had to do to make it work as it's taken 15 years to bring it where it is now and it's still not finished. Would I have known then what I know now about how EAW works I could probably have done it in a few months, as all you need to understand is the basic idea behind it, but without that knowledge I had to take it step by step untill it got close to where I wanted it as the idea slowly got form.

My high contrast artwork- what artwork- you must be joking? I do not do artwork wink
However, your high contrast work is even more obvious when it is shown against those 1.2 forests. That is real neatness smile

As it is your thread I was staying out of it so I would never have responded had you not given me an honourable mention.

This forum is very susceptible to old hurts resurfacing. Many old wounds remain and the slightest thing can cause the scab on an old wound to start bleeding again.

To many some of the comments that have no background meaning seem innocuous but to those with past issues they open a rift that begins the process of - response, more harsh counter, then more pointed comments, and then the spiral down to a flame war.

I am not interested in and will not allow past grievances to ruin the current forum. I am living in the now.

I lack the time, interest, and skill to go back decades to untangle when things started and who started it. I am unable to determine who stole/took/built-off others work. I would need a couple patent rights attorneys and months to do the research.

The past is the past. I will only concern moderation with what is done now. My interest is a smooth running site which advances all improvements and accepts all versions without rancor.

We had a pretty good run for a couple months, but two recent threads are examples of what I speaking of.
—————————————-

This is an example of what seems to be an innocuous comment that starts the fire.

“So I take it you're more a fan of Mr. Jelly's and Rotton's high contrast artwork then. No disrespect intended.”

The inclusion of “no disrespect intended” implies that the poster knew he was saying something that would be received as controversial.

So let’s stop all of this now. I’ll not allow it.
