Long time married guys will get this.

So my wife had to get her license renewed and go down to the DMV this time for the new type of I.D. When her new license arrived and she showed me the new picture...I have to say, it took some willpower to keep my morning coffee from propelling out of my nose as I read what she put down for her "weight". To be fair...she did weigh that much at one point when we were married, but let's say that she's now fighting well above her weight class listed. We are talking about a serious mockery of the DMV identification system here. Oh...here's a phrase you might want to avoid when seeing your wifes new I.D..."Wait...so they didn't have you step on a scale at the DMV?"

For the ladies out there, this is what I propose:

Either

1. Be honest...the years take there toll on all of us. No shame in that.

2. Go on a diet and hit the mark you're putting down on your I.D.

Or better yet...have a hidden scale at the DMV when you get to the counter. I can only imagine the laughter that would ensue as the clerk reads what was put down...and then reads the scale!

Anyone else?

As another long time married guy, this is treading on very thin, very dangerous ice.

A sampling of my basic rules for dealing with women I've shared with my son:

1-A woman weighs what she says she does. Same with shoe and dress sizes. Just let it go.
2-No woman is ever pregnant until she says so or if you see a baby that needs to be caught. And never EVER assume twins.

Sounds like women are just as touchy with their weight as men are with their height!

They always ask you, "is this weight still correct" and then read the weight on your previous license. I always just say yep to make it go faster.

Normally i've gained a few pounds. first time I said yep I was only an extra 10lbs, second time I said yep I was maybe 25lbs over... this time though I've lost some weight so Im only 10lbs over again! Just waiting for that time when Im UNDER the weight and I can say, "NOPE, im now this!" and have a new unreachable goal to maintain for another 4 years.

The big thing for me though is that I used to be 6'4. now im 6'3. I dont even know how to start that conversation with the DMV. Losing an inch is not a conversation you want to have with a woman across a counter!

I'm starting to get paranoid now that my wife will somehow see this thread someday. Might have to remove it entirely!

I am always walking on that thin ice since when I fly two couples and stuff. I have to do a weight and balance with the airplane if I already have full fuel. I know everybody gives low weight and forgets the amount of weight of other things as they stand there. So I always factor in a little bit. I’d rather factor in a bit rather than say “c’mon, you surely weigh ...”. Luckily I have only had to drain fuel once.

I have a feeling some women...even knowing their life may be at stake...will still not give their proper weight!

I have to laugh at some of the weights women my height claim.

At 5'5" and slim, I have always been somewhere in the region of 100lbs (in my 20s, closer to 95lb, currently nearer to 115lb from fencing adding some muscle mass to upper torso and arms).

Some of them claim a similar weight, but have arms noticeably bigger than my thighs. I'd put them closer to 160 in the shade. Honesty in this is not aided by vanity sizing:
When I was a born in the 70s, a 16 was what is now an 8... and still the 'average size' has crept up and now 12 is 'super slim' and 16 is 'normal'.

At least men's sizes are more honest. A 27" waist remains a 27" waist.

I remember in the 1980's when Levi's had that tag on the back waist of all their jeans that had the waist and inseam measurements on it. Every girl I ever saw with those jeans on them had the waist size scratched off. I mean everyone one of them.

We had a guy that would fly his full scale Piper Cub into this big RC Float Fly every year. He was always generous enough to raffle off a free ride in it (the money would go to a local charity). Sometime a women would win it. He would always joke to one of us about just how he was going to ask here how much she weighed before taking her up. I never saw anybody get upset, but I did see some red faces.

popcorn (no salt or butter...like black coffee, you eventually get used to it).

Body weight and measurements are to us just statistics on a spreadsheet.

Only height is on my driver licence.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Naw Jim, we know that people lie about their weight just like Michigan does.
