It was a great day. Weather was perfect and was accompanied with two good friends. Best car show I have ever been to. Around 400 magnificent cars; each worth several pictures and comments. After the first 15 minutes I just quit taking pictures and enjoyed the cars. Besides the wonderful cars, it was nice to see so many women elegantly dressed for the day.

Just a great day.

We are all committed to going again next year.

Great looking car , that Merc. smile I am always a bit torn about these concours vehicles. On one hand it is surely very important to preserve them , but on the other hand, great cars were made to be driven. There are so many "garage queens" that never again see the open road. I bet it was a great time. My bucket list includes attending Goodwood Revival vintage racing and maybe a concours when we are in the UK or EU someday.

Yes, it is a shame that some of these great cars are garage queens. But they did do a drive around of all the award winning cars. But it it weren’t for these concours a lot of them would never be recovered. The competition of finding and restoring is a passion for those with the finances to do it. At this level the level of restoration work and attention to detail is amazing.

Got to see some cars that I never even knew existed. Interesting to see cars from obscure makers. The Brass era cars are just jaw dropping. Several one-off cars and manufacturers.

One of my friends is big in the world of Italian cars and is employed at the Ferrari dealer in Detroit. It was a joint Ferrari/Maserati dealer until a few years ago when they split the dealership. He got us free tickets for the event. He will be back next year and we’ll get a group to go. The event parking is at the the KFHB airfield, so it is very convenient to fly in and take the shuttle. He has some great insights into the cars and makes the event much more fun. We bumped into six people he knew there. Saw some of the people you see on TV.

I’m stunned that there’s a Ferrari dealership in Detroit.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
