When you want to do your Guardian blueprint?
You need a DBX or AspEx. Nothing bigger will fit.

Have the following equipped;
Point defense mounted on top of your ship
Vehicle Hanger
Synth mats for SRV wep reload and fuel

Join our Team Speak channel to hook up. Are you in The_ Nephilim private group yet?

OK, I can do that. I have both of those ships. Would either make a better choice?

If it works for you I could do this Wednesday, Thursday or Friday night.

DBX is the ship of choice as it's smaller. Easier to park. At the moment Thursday is better. Please watch video on acquiring Guardian Module blueprints to become familiar with process, especially at the altar. Look forward to assisting you. Remember we use SHQ TS. Location we're traveling to is HD 63154. Make sure to have a fuel scoop

OK, Thursday it is thanks. If that changes let me know. Apologies for not noticing your message last night in the game. I joined Neph's PG, and thanks Neph for that.

I will brush up on what's required so I am not a complete liability.

Does the ship need armament aside from the PD? Is more than one PD better? I will bring Mad Hops (DBX) on your recommendation. I know you're left coast so will need to work out a time. Not sure how long this will take, but I can play up until midnight my time (9 Cali time)

Armament not necessary and only 1 PD necessary. Just make sure it's in the top closest to front of ship. I can be on at 6 pm your time if that helps. How long it takes depends on how many blueprints you want to gather. Recipe for FSD is;

1 Guardian Module Blueprint
21 Guardian Power Cells
21 Guardian Technology Components
24 Focus Crystals
8 HN Shock Mounts

We will be collecting the power cells, and tech components on site. Tech Components were somewhat sparse, so we had to log out and re-log to reset the site. Good thing is you only need 7 of each to get the job done.

OK sounds great. Should I bring two SRVs? Will others be flying top cover so the danger is minimized?

Ideally I can get all Guardian tech at some point. At this stage I want the FSD and shields, but weapons too, eventually, I guess? FSD seems to be the most useful, so want to start with that.

6 PM eastern should work fine. Thanks for the help sensei

Actually if we can make it 6:30 that would be better as I have to feed all of the creatures that dwell within my abode.

What system/station will you be setting sail from?

630 is fine for me. Departing from Somerset Station in I Carinae more than likely. That's been my home for some time and all my ships are there.

Preparations have begun. Last night I installed the point defense in the DBX. Actually put two on. Any advantage to that or would one be plenty? I see they carry 10,000 rounds.

I also installed a hangar and SRV, then took it for a test landing and resource gathering to be sure all is well. It went off without a hitch. I have plenty of resources on board to synthesize ammo and fuel.

The thing that I am concerned with is that my DBX is not outfitted to take damage. Shields and integrity are rather weak. Is the ship likely to take damage? I have a couple of days to reequip it if it's needed.

D, when I took my DBX there it was only D rated with weak shields. It took no damage as the Sentinels were targeting the SRVs. You should be fine, the point defense it there to protect your Buggy.

Excellent, thanks. I'm D-rated, low emissions, thermal spread sort of build. It runs really cool and jumps well, but that's at the cost of it's protection.

I'll watch a video today to see what goes down. Curious how the site is located on the surface. Navigation, or will there be a marker?

Lots of folks say to take two SRVs. Is that because they didn't have point defense?

I'll get the rest of the stuff today. I have the focus crystals already and will get the shock mounts. This can wait until after, but I like to be prepared smile

I watched a short video. I'll watch a few more as this one was condensed. What I wonder is how the hell would a player know how to do this given the info the game provides? If it weren't for the internet I not only would have never worked this out (I haven't done it yet so maybe shouldn't jinx myself), and I might not even realize Guardian tech was a thing in the first place. Sooner or later I would have visited a tech broker I suppose, but still, this stuff is in the dark.

Will I need cargo space during the mission? If so, regular racks?

I saw in the video that the site shows up as a POI. Does the planet need to be scanned to reveal it? I've been out 8 months and I need to brush up on any thing that is needed to be done. So stuff you consider routine may not be for me, and I don't want to drag everyone out there to find I am not prepared. So feel free to mention anything that might seem trivial but is necessary to complete this.

POI shows up on planet when within a certain distance, scan the Nav beacon or honk first tho. I’m pretty sure Wingy had me bring along a cargo rack, regular is fine. I only had 1 SRV, you will prolly need to refuel/rearm it.

Thanks Bohemond. I'm limited on open optionals, as I'm sure you were too in the same ship. Class 2 racks enough? Class 3? How many tons will I need to carry?

The whole scanning thing has changed a lot since I last played. I have set my stick to switch HUD modes (but very little other remapping of new features and mechanics), and I suppose I will need a scanner? Which one now?

Was an 8 ton rack, if I recall correctly. DSS is the only stellar scanner nowadays since the ADS if standard after the update. My DBX in Inara is as it was when I ran the Guardian run except that I’ve taken the PD off since
