I remember reading he was allowed to hear the secret Finnish recordings made aboard a rail car when Hitler visited Mannerheim. They were supposedly the only extant recordings of HItler speaking casually in his conversational voice and Ganz used them for in his role. https://www.flickr.com/photos/jenoscolor/28523120553RIP to a gifted actor who for better or worse will always be remembered for that role. RIP. That role was incredible. But as good as it was, it is hard to watch more than once because in some ways the quality is so good in that it is almost disturbing.

How many other Swiss actors do we know?
(Which, in all fairness, may also reflect our own ignorance) If we are talking about actors who have made a name in Hollywood then I would say none besides Ganz. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if most people assumed he was just German just like most people seem to assume that Christoph Waltz is German. Edit: thanks Chucky. I forgot about Ursula!

After a quick google I picked up Maximilian Schell. I didn't really recognise any of the others listed.

After a quick google I picked up Maximilian Schell. I didn't really recognise any of the others listed. I think he’s Austrian, not Swiss.
