Hiding in the bushes
Ace Combat 7 is out on PC and it's glorious. True sequel to the PS2 era Ace Combats. No more Assault Horizon BS. People on Steam bomb the reviews for not supporting flight sticks and ultra wide resolutions, but tbh this game plays just fine with a game pad - it's arcade flight game after all. If you're looking for a quick dumb fun with stunning visuals and cheesy dialogue and silly story look no further. Highly recommended!

Looks like a lot of fun damson. I loved Ace Combat 4 on the PS2. I remember seeing it demoed at the local CompUSA and was amazed at how cinematic it looked. This is actually the kind of game where I don't want to have to pull out a joystick. Just jump in and enjoy the "feel" and visuals of it all.

Does it support Track IR though?

Hey Coot, sadly it does not support Track IR. It would be great if it did though. Upcoming Ace Combat clone - Project Wingman supported FreeTrack in the demo AFAIK, and TIR support for it will probably be implemented in the final release, so at leats we will get it there.

I bought this knowing full well that this sort of frantic gameplay doesn't appeal to me.
Was rather surprised that I couldn't use my generic joystick, but played through the first level with a gamepad I happened to have lying around.

For the rest of the game, I think I'll just sit back and watch damson show how it's done. smile

If only we could have a more open EF2000/TAW style of gameplay in this fantasy world...

Thank you for the kind words mikew, but I'm not consider myself an expert of Ace Combat wink

I'm currently on my second playthrough, unlocking all the enemy aces skins, it's a challange on its own.

Anyway here are the the rest of the missions from my first playthrough:

The last one will unlock later today on my channel but you can see it from this link right now:

lol indeed ...

The cockpits look really detailed and well done though.
