Baltic Dragon

Today marks 3 years since release of the original Enemy Within campaign, the first 3-rd party DLC for DCS.

I think this is a good moment to announce that The Enemy Within 3.0 is ready and is awaiting to be published in a near future.

3.0 means a complete overhaul of the old version, with 20 out of 21 scripts rewritten from scratch, 4x the number of VOs and many other changes listed below.

The new version will be a paid DLC, but will cost less than an average campaign. I will of course also support the legacy version, although with the new one around, I don't see a point in playing the old one wink.

Here are some main features of the 3.0:

- 20 out of 21 missions have been rewritten from scratch. This includes the course of action, dialogues, briefings and background information.
- More than 2/3 of the missions take place in different locations than the original ones, and most feature different challenges and enemies to provide a completely new experience,
- 3 entirely new missions that are designed to complement and extend the storyline (replacing 3 old ones that I didn't like that much).
- There are 8 pilot and 3 commander characters reappearing throughout the campaign, with their own personalities.
- Number of VOs have almost quadrupled to over 2100.
- Additional documents and custom kneeboard pages are available for each sortie.

I would like to dedicate the new version to the memory of Jim 'Blooze' Mudgett, without whom Enemy Within would probably never come to being. I am attaching a picture of the initial cover which he designed.

yo baltic_dragon pass me a free upgrade so I can give this 3.0 version a no BS review rather than the watered down rainbow version that consumer's will see by none other than the ED endorsed BEACHAV8R over at Mudspike.

Does he even read this forum?

And why would he want people to see critical reviews, when he can also just keep the campaign reviewed by people that give it a guaranteed "it's GREAT" review? It just seems counter-intuitive to give critical outlets review copies.

I really don't care if he does or doesn't......prior experience here at SimHQ tells me that news travels quite quickly back to non members. Especially those who get around with their heads up ED's arse in the likes of nine line and Co

Well, the message that Nineline and Wags should stop being abusive and insulting towards other people hasn't really reached them yet.

Is it really that pricey to hire someone with a communication degree or social skills? And refrain from talking in public if you know you're an A-hole?

Free demo mission from campaign

isn't that one "fly your a-10 from airstart to kobuleti and land" only?
Not sure what it's supposed to demonstrate.
But I might be wrong, has happened before.

Now that this crap is released.....with one only original unaltered mission.....
I would have invested if it had a change of name.

If it really is a completely new design from the ground up....it should have had a new name
Not just 3.0 on the end of it.....and the upgrade should have been free to those who own the origial.

It's like if ED charged for updates and patches for their modules.

There's a dude I wished I'd never met...............Buddy of mine who was a USAF instructor and flew commercial heavies after he retired told me the funniest thing: I mentioned to him once that Beach believes all the hype he tells people about himself and that he thinks he's sierra hotel cuz he flys a twin prop job. My buddy said, "the smaller the aircraft the bigger the a-hole". LOL.
